Online Education Summer Workshop

In the summer of 2013, Academic Computing & Media Services (ACMS) participated in the summer workshop dedicated to exploring online education in many forms. This included creating blended courses and MOOCs. The workshop's purpose was to allow faculty to become familiar with advances in online education and create test materials to understand what creating a course containing an online component includes. This included creating video content to understand what resources that process entails. While the workshop used Coursera as a platform with which to investigate online education, the principles discussed in the course can be applied to any online learning platform, including Ted, UC San Diego's learning management system.
