Audiovisual Design and Engineering is responsible for audiovisual upgrades, design, and maintenance in over 100 general assignment classrooms at UC San Diego. We are the AV consultants for many new buildings on campus including the Medical Education Center, the Jacobs Medical Tower, Jacobs School of Engineering, Biomedical Research Facility 2, and many more.
The following audiovisual (AV) guidelines have been developed as a reference for architects and other design professionals engaged in the design of classrooms, lecture halls and presentation spaces. The purpose of these guidelines is to provide information during the pre-design phase when it can be effectively used to guide architectural/space planning decisions. They are not intended to establish, or communicate, standards or specifications, nor are they intended to replace specific one-on-one meetings with the occupant and AV consultant to determine specific design requirements.
