SOLIDWORKS is a suite of tools for engineering design, documentation, simulation, and sustainable design that is available at no cost to faculty and students for educational purposes only.

Software includes:

  • Simulation flow-hvac
  • Flow simulation
  • Professional and Standard
  • Draftsight Enterprise
  • Composer Professional

Obtaining Software

To gain access to Solidworks, contact UCSD Software Distribution with a brief description of the project, length of license use, advisor name/contact information, computer MAC and static IP address.

Users can register computers for a static IP address with campus hostmaster (hostmaster@ucsd.edu).

Students (undergrad/grad), faculty, staff may install Solidworks on their personal computers for educational purposes.

Students can also access SOLIDWORKS software through the GoVirtual virtual computer lab.
