Adobe Acrobat Site License

Licensing for UC San Diego Departments

Acrobat Pro UC Enterprise Term License Agreements (ETLA)

  • Annually renewed license
  • Includes updates and upgrades
  • Priced by FTE (not per computer)
  • Simplified compliance and administration:
    • No tracking installations per computer
    • New installs mid-year at no additional cost
  • Instructional student lab computer installations included at no additional cost
  • Staff and faculty are allowed one additional installation on home machines used for work-related purposes
  • Support is not included
  • No DVDs; downloads only
  • Only includes Acrobat Pro

Adobe ETLA licensing is based upon your FTE (Full Time Employees, according to payroll).

Employees that aren’t “knowledge workers” (those that don’t regularly use computers on the job) such as groundskeepers, building maintenance workers, and food service workers need not be counted. Employees who use a computer only to clock in and out, or only for other brief work-related tasks, can also be excluded from the departmental count.

If campus-wide demand for these products is sufficient to continue with this agreement, the annual expected cost to lease these products would be no greater than $8.25/FTE for Acrobat Pro - Windows or Macintosh.
This license includes downloaded software only (no physical media).

Non-Site Licensing

A department with a very low need to use Adobe Acrobat Pro compared to the department FTE may not find the cost of an ETLA justified.

Departments may purchase individual Adobe Acrobat Pro licenses for use on a single UC San Diego computer from Marketplace using a "punch out" with the label "SHI" to connect to the current UC system software reseller for this agreement.
