Requesting Services

The Media Teaching Lab's primary purpose is supporting media production course delivery by providing checkout services, studio support and access to editing and post-production spaces. We may make exceptions to these policies on a limited and case-by-case basis. Please use the appropriate form below to request an exception.

Please submit any requests well in advance of your need, as it may take us up to 72 hours for a response during busy times of the quarter or if staff need to consult internally.

Equipment Request

Please fill out the Equipment Exception Request form and a staff member will review and respond. You may not check out the requested equipment until you get an approval in writing from a staff member.

Transportation Request

If you need assistance with transporting equipment to/from the Media Lab and other campus options will not work for you, we may be able to assist you. Please fill out the Transportation Assistance form and a staff member will get back to you to determine available options.

Production Studio/Editing Room Use Request

Please fill out the Production Studio/Editing Room Use Exception Request form and a staff member will review and respond. You will not be able to complete your reservation until you get an approval in writing from a staff member.

Faculty Requests

For assistance with reserving equipment for your class, please email medialab@ucsd.edu at least 1-week in advance of your class date so we can discuss options and reserve it for you.

To request assistance or demonstrations in a class taking place in the Media Teaching Lab studios or classrooms, please submit a Classroom Assistance Request form and management will review and respond. Please make any special requests as far in advance as possible so that we may adjust staff schedules as needed.
