Use the OCE Upgrade Tool to request an upgrade to an OCE account. Your request will be granted if you meet the qualifications of one of the OCE types.
After you have run OCEUpgrade and have been allocated a new OCE account, there are a couple of things you need to do. First, you need to wait 24 hours for your account to actually be created on the new systems to which you are gaining access.
If you have an existing personal account we will try to use the encrypted password from that account for your new account. If we are unable to do so, your new account will have an unknown password on the new system(s). You can rectify that by setting a new password for your account using the ACMS Global Password Change Tool
You will need to wait at least one hour for gpasswd to change your password everywhere. Then, you will be able to login to and use your new account!
You may also want to change the delivery destination specified for your @UCSD.EDU e-mail address and put a .forward file in your old account so all your mail will go to one place.
