Former ResNet Staff

Students that work for ResNet as Help Desk technicians come from a variety of backgrounds. We're not all computer science majors! Check out who used to work at ResNet. Think of it as a yearbook.

Congratulations to our staff who graduated and to those who left to pursue other career/academic goals. We are so thankful for their hardwork and dedication over the years, and we wish them the best!

"Then and Now" Spotlight

Many Help Desk technicians stay employed longer than one year. During their time of employment, they further develop their skills in assisting customers with advanced network troubleshooting issues, managing and leading junior student staff, and in some cases, increasing their technical skills in programming or graphic design. We are proud that many of our technicians become employed by well known companies.

(class of '09, '11)
Employment: 2006-2013
Major: BS Ecology, MS Biology

ResNet was actually my first job, and I could not have asked for a more awesome position. It provided me with several opportunities to grow in interpersonal, analytical, and technical skills that ended up being very useful for my graduate degree in biology. I am now enrolled in a PhD Ecology program at the University of Texas.

Sammi T.
(class of '13)
Employment: 2011-2013
Major: Pharmaceutical Chemistry

One of the best things about working with ResNet is becoming well-rounded and learning about computers and technology without being a CS major. I cannot be more thankful for the knowledge, experiences and relationships I've built. What I have learned here will be transferrable as I begin my studies at UCSD Skaggs School of Pharmacy.

(class of '12)
Employment: 2009-2012
Major: Computer Science and Engineering, Music

Working at ResNet taught me professionalism, offered me insight to future careers, and gave me a huge amount of responsibility. I enjoyed the fast-paced work environment around peers, the programming experience, and the opportunity to pursue what I eventually want to do -- computer security. Without this jump start, I would not be as successful as I am today. I am now a quality assurance programmer with Northrop Grumman.

Michael K.
(class of '11)
Employment: 2009-2012
Major: Psychology

Being interested in building computers as a kid, I chose to work at ResNet, where I learned more than I could ever imagine about computers, networking, and customer service. After graduation, I was offered a position to work at ResNet as a career staff member, where I continued to grow. Working here has been a great opportunity, and this experience has definitely prepared me for my professional career as a Web Manager/System Administrator for a joint business venture.

(class of '09)
Employment: 2006-2009
Major: Cognitive Science, HCI

Working at ResNet was such an awesome and rewarding experience! My fellow ResNetter’s were among the brightest, most spirited, and hardest working professionals I've ever met. The diverse projects and responsibilities presented in the role equipped me not only with invaluable IT skills, but also taught me a lot about communication, teamwork and other soft skills. Since leaving ResNet, I’ve held technical and business roles at Qualcomm and ESET. I am currently employed as an information security engineer.

Employment: 2008-2010

I have loved computers and technology for as long as I can remember so searching for a job in the Information Technology world at UCSD was an easy task. I discovered ResNet and knew it was the perfect match to improve my skill set in all aspects. Some of my best memories have been created at ResNet with the friends and comradery between us that still exists today after leaving ResNet. Now I work at a Software as a Service (SaaS) company as a System Administrator responsible for the strategic vision, development and deployment of IT services and support.
