The Media Teaching Lab

The UCSD Media Teaching Lab is dedicated to providing outstanding media production facilities, equipment, and technical assistance to UC San Diego undergraduate and graduate students.

The Media Teaching Lab has a wide variety of equipment available for use in photography, video, film, and audio production. This includes high end cinema cameras, DSLR's, camcorders, light kits, audio recorders, mixers and microphones, as well as the ancillary equipment and tools used in media production.

In addition to the equipment that students are able to check out, the Media Teaching Lab offers one hour technical workshops that are open to the entire UCSD community. These workshops span a range of levels and topics, introducing students to the various cameras and equipment we have at the facility, as well as video and audio editing, color correction, stop motion animation, lighting techniques, and audio recording, to name a few. They are taught each quarter from Week 2 to Week 6, on Thursdays and Fridays only. For more information, pease see our calendar of workshops below.
