Mathematica from Wolfram Research is mathematical computation software that integrates computation into complete workflows, moving seamlessly from initial ideas to deployed individual or enterprise solutions. 

Eligibility

  • Faculty, staff, and students are eligible to use products on campus or personal machines
  • The agreement supports the use of products in instruction and academic research
  • Licensing is renewed annually and is available only to active students, faculty, and staff

Wolfram products: Mathematica, Mathematica Online, Wolfram Alpha Pro, Wolfram|Alpha Notebook edition 

Get Access

Mathematica Desktop

Please go to UCSD Wolfram portal https://www.wolfram.com/siteinfo/.

  • Type in your UC San Diego email address and click Continue
  • Click the link to download Mathematica for your operating system
  • When prompted to activate through your organization (SSO), sign in with your UC San Diego login (for details, see instructions: https://support.wolfram.com/54713)
    • (Note: The first time that you sign in using your school login, you will be prompted to link it to your Wolfram ID)

Reactivating Mathematica Versions 12.3.0 and earlier

  • To upgrade to version 12.3.1 or newer version, follow the directions under “Licensing Access (Single Machine)”
  • If you would like to stay at your current version of Mathematica:
    • Go to https://user.wolfram.com/
    • Type in your UC San Diego email address and select the option to sign in using your UC San Diego netID and password (Note: The first time that you sign in using your school login, you will be prompted to link it to your Wolfram ID)
    • Select your Mathematica for Sites (Legacy) product, and click the button to “Request Extension” next to your Activation Key.
    • An email will be sent to you. Click on the link provided to validate. If you do not see the email, check your Spam or Junk folder.
    • Restart Mathematica and your license will be extended automatically

  • If prompted to sign in, type in your UC San Diego email address and select the option to sign in using your UC San Diego netID and password (Note: The first time that you sign in using your school login, you will be prompted to link it to your Wolfram ID)

  • Go to https://www.wolframalpha.com/ and select “Sign In” (upper right - hand corner)
  • Type in your UC San Diego email address and select the option to sign in using your UC San Diego netID and password (Note: The first time that you sign in using your school login, you will be prompted to link it to your Wolfram ID)

Licensing Access

  • To install Wolfram|Alpha Notebook Edition on the desktop:
    • Go to https://www.wolfram.com/siteinfo/
    • Type in your UC San Diego email address and click Continue
    • Click the link to download Wolfram|Alpha Notebook Edition for your operating system
    • When prompted to activate through your organization (SSO), sign in with your UC San Diego login (for details, see instructions: https://support.wolfram.com/54713)
      • (Note: The first time that you sign in using your school login, you will be prompted to link it to your Wolfram ID)

UC San Diego offers access on a per-seat basis to all eligible products offered by Wolfram Research and home-use licenses for use with courses.
